It is at that. I like to think I rather excel at both, although I will admit that most of my companions have very little interest in the fishing aspect. The only one who didn't find it completely boring was Leela. She had a rather unique way of fishing. A bit too violent for my taste.
I wouldn't mind fishing with a fellow gentleman of the sport. I must warn you that some of my favorite fishing holes are likely to be a bit far afield.
